Last week, ASUS announced that its top-tier variant of the ROG Zephyrus G14 would only be available with a 1440p (WQHD) display and 60Hz refresh rate, and that the 120Hz Full HD panel would not be an option. Now it seems that the brand has made a U-turn on that decision, making the latter a viable option for the same SKU.
There is a catch, though: while the highest-tier Zephyrus G14 model with the 1440p 60Hz display will be available for purchase in Malaysia starting today, ASUS is only bringing in the same variant with the 120Hz Full HD display a few months later in September. Along with the same AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS CPU, 16GB DDR4-3200MHz RAM, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q GPU, as well as the 76WHr battery.
As for the pricing, the Zephyrus G14 with the 120Hz Full HD display will cost the same as the model with the 1440p 60Hz display at RM7699. Further, the variant will be available in two colours: Moonlight White or Eclipse Grey.
For those who aren’t gunning for the top-of-the-line variant of the Zephyrus G14, rest assured there the laptop does come fitted with more meagre hardware. The barebones model comes with a Ryzen 5 4600U and a GeForce GTX 1650 and costs RM4499.
Of course, if you’re looking for middle ground, you can also opt for the version with a Ryzen 7 4800HS and a GeForce GTX 1660Ti. For RM6199. Both options will be available starting August.
