HMD Global has been rather quiet in Malaysia for the past few months. However, a recent revelation by its new local partner, Macpie Distribution suggests that the company is preparing to launch two new phones into our market soon.
One of them is the Nokia 5.3 which was originally announced alongside the Nokia 8.3 5G back in March. Equipped with a 6.55-inch HD+ display, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 alongside up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage although the memory and storage specs for Malaysia have not yet been revealed.
On its back, the Nokia 5.3 carries a 13MP camera alongside 5MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro camera with all of them are being housed in a circular module just like the higher-end Nokia 8.3 5G. The phone also comes with an 8MP selfie camera, 4000mAh battery, and a dedicated Google Assistant button.
In a separate Facebook post, Macpie Distribution has also announced that Nokia C2 will be making its way into stores. Being an Android Go device, it is not surprising to see that HMD Global has fitted C2 with a rather modest 1.4GHz Unisoc quad-core processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage.
In terms of photography, both rear and selfies cameras on C2 are equipped with a 5MP sensor. Alongside 5.7-inch HD+ IPS display, the phone’s general specifications are completed by a removable 2800mAh battery and micro-USB port.
Despite these revelations, Macpie didn’t reveal the actual release date and pricing for these Nokia phones. We’ll keep you posted once we receive more details regarding the release of Nokia 5.3 and C2 in Malaysia.
