Even though the 5G network is not yet accessible to the public in Malaysia, Huawei still presses on with the rollout of its 5G devices in our market. After releasing the new nova 7 SE 5G yesterday, the company has just announced that it will also launch the MatePad Pro 5G in our market later this month.
Powered by Kirin 990 5G processor which is slightly faster than the non-5G variant of the chip, the MatePad Pro 5G is essentially the first 5G tablet in Malaysia. The local variant will carry 8GB of RAM alongside 256GB internal storage and will be available in Forest Green colourway.
The back area of the 5G model is draped in vegan leather which made it easier to be identified since the standalone Wi-Fi variant comes metal finish instead. On another hand, there is also the price factor as well, since the MatePad Pro 5G will be released with a price tag of RM 3299 which is RM 900 more than the Wi-Fi model.
Available for purchase starting from 26 June onwards, customers will receive a 3-month subscription to Huawei Video streaming service alongside 12-month access to 50GB Huawei Cloud storage. To complete the MatePad Pro 5G experience, customers can also choose to obtain the optional Smart Magnetic Keyboard for RM 499 which will come inclusive with the Huawei M-Pencil while stocks last.
If they purchase the MatePad Pro 5G by 30 June, they will also be eligible for the Huawei AppGallery Carnival’s lucky draw which offers Proton X70 and electric scooters as its main prizes. For further information, head on to Huawei Malaysia’s official website right here.
