Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) finally revealed the upcoming PlayStation 5 (PS5) console last week. Frustratingly, the company left its price out of the announcement event. So it’s not surprising whenever a possible leak of its price appears on the internet. But the most recent one on Amazon France looks like it could be the real deal.
Twitter user Ben Geskin shared screenshots of the page in question, showing a price of EUR499 and a release date of 20 November. The numbers have since been scrapped, but it did sound like a plausible price for the PS5. It’s worth noting that this figure was the price for the standard console, and while likely, it’s not known if the digital edition will come with a lower price.

To be fair, this is not the first time a supposed price of the PS5 appeared online. A previous one pegged it at GBP599, alongside a 2TB storage model. Oddly enough, the one with more storage also came with the same price. The higher-than-usual price, alongside the extra storage with the same price, made it a little too questionable to take seriously.
PlayStation 5 2TB placeholder listing on Amazon UK says it's £599.99. No link posted to Amazon but someone was able to order it apparently https://t.co/f7QUdXsdGu pic.twitter.com/1SEEInbeHP

With this potential -and believable – price for the PlayStation 5, it looks like it could be the real deal. Here’s hoping SIE will reveal it officially soon.
