After completing its Redmi Note 9 series line-up in Malaysia last month, Xiaomi has now shifted its attention to the new Redmi 9. According to a post on Xiaomi Malaysia’s Facebook page, consumers in Malaysia can get their hands on the new phone starting from 18 June onwards.
However, the actual availability of the phone depends on the variant that you prefer. Specifically, the variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage will be released first on 18 June while the unit with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will follow later on 25 June.
Both variants are equipped with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ display alongside MediaTek Helio G80 processor, LPDDR4X RAM, and eMMC 5.1-based internal storage. They also comes with a 13MP main camera on its back alongside 8MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth cameras.
There is also an 8MP selfie camera that is housed within the teardrop notch on Redmi 9’s display. Completing its general specifications is a 5020mAh battery that supports QC3 technology and up to 18W fast charger.
Pricewise, the Redmi 9 with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage goes for RM 499 and the variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is listed at RM 599. However, the unit with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage will be offered for RM 449 on its launch day on 18 June.
