Malaysia Airlines (MAS) released a statement earlier today cautioning customers to be aware of a fake website that could potentially lead to a scam. The airline explained that the matter was brought to its attention after receiving screenshots of fares which were not consistent with its own system.
MAS said that a search for “Malaysia Airlines” via Google will direct customers to the fake website which would display incorrect fares. The airline urged its users to verify that they are on the correct URL (www.malaysiaairlines.com) before proceeding to make any flight bookings.
Alternatively, they could also utilise MAS’ mobile application to search or to book flights, as well as via appointed agents. Customers are reminded to check entry and exit requirements before their journeys with travel restrictions remaining in place in most countries.
On another note, the airline had recently announced an increase in its domestic and international connectivity beginning June and July respectively. With this, MAS hopes to facilitate essential travels locally and as other countries begin to lift border restrictions.
