Acer Malaysia today has officially announced the availability of monitors from its subsidiary, AOpen. They are generally aimed at the budget market just like how the company’s Nitro series is meant for casual gamers while Predator and ConceptD monitors are designed for hardcore gamers and creators, respectively.
Leading the first batch of AOpen monitors in our market is the 27HC5RP curved monitor which features a 27-inch 1440p VA panel with 144Hz refresh rate (UPDATE: the resolution is actually Full HD. Acer Malaysia has since corrected the specs sheet that was sent to media). Users also have the option to push the monitor’s refresh rate to as high as 165Hz if the situation calls for it.
The two other models in the list are traditional Full HD monitors though, complete with the inclusion of a VGA port alongside the usual HDMI port. That being said, the 23.8-inch 24CL1Y display is equipped with a 60Hz IPS panel while the smaller 21.5-inch 22CV1Q display comes with a VA panel with a slightly higher refresh rate of 75Hz.
Pricewise, the 27HC5RP curved monitor goes for RM 699 while the 24CL1Y and 22CV1Q Full HD monitors can be obtained for RM 379 and RM 289, respectively. To be available starting from 5 June 2020 onwards, you can check out Acer Malaysia’s official Facebook page to learn more about the launch freebies and discounts for these new AOpen monitors.
