Sony Interactive Entertainment has been extremely secretive with its upcoming PlayStation 5 console. The company has revealed some technical aspects of it, and unveiled the name and look of its DualSense controller. But beyond that, all we know about the console is that it will have Godfall among its launch titles. But it looks like the company may be planning to reveal more of the games department next week.
Bloomberg reports that the company is planning a digital event to showcase games for the PS5. This online event may happen as soon as next week, with 3 June being one of the dates floated around. There may be more events in the coming weeks and months too, but nothing has been set in stone yet.
Aside from the tidbits of information mentioned above, perhaps the only other thing we know about the PS5 in terms of performance is what we saw with the Unreal Engine 5 tech demo. But as impressive as it was, it’s hard to tell which of it was the engine and which was the console in action. And even then, games on the console won’t look like that at least until after 2021.
With the chance that Sony will be unveiling more games for its PS5, there’s a chance that some of them will feature gameplay footage. That would certainly help us get a better idea of what the machine is like in action. Of course, it’s just as likely that Sony will just announce the PlayStation 5 games, and show no gameplay at all.
