The Volvo S60 T8 CKD variant has been officially launched in Malaysia. This model features similar specifications with the CBU version that was launched back in October 2019, but with several new features and is also fully assembled locally in Volvo’s Shah Alam factory.
Like the CBU release, the new vehicle features the T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid which consists of a supercharged and turbocharged Drive-E 2.0 litre petrol engine. The e-AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system is capable of delivering a total output of 407hp and 640Nm of torque, which Volvo claims could achieve 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds. Specifically, its electric motor outputs at 87hp and 240Nm, while the Drive-E petrol engine produces 320hp and 400Nm.
In terms of its electric and hybrid specifications, the new S60 is equipped with a 11.5kWh lithium-ion PHEV battery, which could provide an electric range of up to 49km. A full charge can be achieved in about three hours via an outlet that outputs 3.7kW or more, according to Volvo.

Speaking of which, the Sensus Connect features a tablet-style touch screen interface and is fully compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In terms of user experience, the interface itself combines car functions, navigation and in-car entertainment apps.
