Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (THPS) 1+2 will be coming back as a combined remaster, which is good news already. But it looks like even the skaters themselves will get updated as part of the whole graphics overhaul.
Specifically, the original skaters who appeared in the original games will return in their middle-aged forms. Activision says that the remastered title will feature new scans of the pro skaters. This will give them the graphically updated look as the rest of the game. But on the flip side, those who remember them when they were 20 years younger won’t be seeing updated versions of the skaters in that age.
And indeed, most of them are well into their middle ages. Tony Hawk himself just turned 52, and Chad Muska will be 43 soon. And yet they don’t seem to have as much rust about their skills on the board. You can see some of them in action in a recent video by Jack Black on his YouTube channel, Jablinski Games.
In case you missed it, THPS 1+2 will be available starting 4 September 2020. It will be available on current-generation consoles as well as PC. But for the latter, it looks to be an Epic Games Store exclusive.
