Instagram has announced that it will soon let you decide who can tag or mention you on the platform. The Facebook subsidiary says this is a new feature to help fight against cyberbullying.
On this, your option include letting everyone, only those you follow, or no one at all, to do so. These options apply for both tagging and mentioning. If you want to have different setting for both, you’ll be glad to know that’s what Instagram has in mind as well.
On a similar note, Instagram is also rolling out the ability for you to delete comments in bulk. You can do so for up to 25 comments at a time. Expanding on this, you’ll also be allowed to block or restrict multiple accounts from interacting with you.
Other efforts Instagram is adding to the service is the ability to let you pin comments. Unlike most platforms that do this, you can pin up to three comments to the top of your posts. The one who posted the pinned comment will also be notified that you’ve done so to their comment. The company will only start testing this in a bit, so don’t expect to see this anytime soon.
As for the other two, Instagram did not say when it began rolling out these features. At the time of writing, we’ve already gotten access to the tagging and mentions control, but not the bulk deleting.
