Back in March, Razer announced that the company has started making surgical masks to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. And now, the company has announced the way in which it will be distributing them. At least, in its home country of Singapore.
And it is doing so via vending machine. The company says it is giving one free mask to every Singapore resident aged 16 and above. And for verification, the company is using its Razer Pay app.
Upon verification, Singaporean users will get a mask coupon on the app. The company says this process may take up to one business day, so there may be some waiting involved. Once a user gets the coupon on the app, all they have to do is go to a Razer mask vending machine and scan the coupon there.
Razer says it is currently running a beta test from 12 May to 2 June 2020. For now, the company only has one mask vending machine on the island nation. But the company says it intends to have 20 machines deployed before 1 June.
But that’s for Singapore. With Razer already having an office in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur, here’s hoping the company will do something similar on this side of the Johor straits.
