ASUS today officially unveiled its whole range of gaming laptops powered by AMD’s new Ryzen 4000 Mobile series CPUs. Included among the lineup is the TUF Gaming series, comprising the A15 and A17.
Specs-wise, both laptop variants are, as mentioned, equipped with the latest Ryzen 4000 series mobile processors. For the A15, the base model starts with a 6-cores Ryzen 5 4600H, 8GB DDR4 RAM running at 3200MHz, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, 512GB NVMe PCie SSD, and a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS display.
For those looking at the obtaining the highest-tier SKU of the A15, that model comes with a Ryzen 9 4900H CPU, 16GB of dual-channel DDR4-3200MHz RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, 1TB of storage via NVMe PCIe SSD, and the same 15.6-inch FUll HD IPS Panel.
At this point, we should note that regardless of model, the display on all SKUs of the A15 and A17 come with Adaptive Sync.
Speaking of the A17, this variant of ASUS’ new TUF Gaming series comes starts with a Ryzen 7 4800H CPU, a GeForce GTX 1650, 8GB DDR4-3200MHz RAM, and a 512GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD. As its name suggests, its IPS display measures in at 17.3-inches and is Full HD.
The top-tier of the A17, surprisingly, isn’t too far a leap from the base model. Aside from the bump up to the Ryzen 9 4900H and a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, everything else remains the same. Oh, and both the A15 and A17 are powered by the same 48WHr Li-Po battery.
Ports-wise, the new TUF Gaming A Series notebooks comes with a few more ports over its predecessor. Case in point, both the A15 and A17 feature a USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port on the right side that is capable of both Power Delivery (PD) charging and acting as an output for DisplayPort 1.4. Moreover, the right side of the notebooks now come with a USB 2.0 Gen2 port.
Price-wise, the ASUS TUF Gaming A15 starts at an SRP of RM3499 for the base model, while its top-tier variant will retail at RM5899. For the A17, the price for the notebook starts at RM4299, while its top-of-the-line variant will cost you RM5199. All variants of the new notebooks are available from today.
