Sonos recently announced the Arc, its new premium smart soundbar. According to the brand, the new soundbar is designed to provide its listeners with immersive, cinema-quality sound in tandem with the content they are viewing, as well as the choice of music they wish to listen to.
Performance-wise, the Sonos Arc’s output comprises 11 high-performance drivers, two of which are upward-firing in order to produce 3D Audio. Physical connectivity for the Arc is conducted via its HDMI eARC port. For wireless connectivity, the Arc can be controlled via the new Sonos app, a compatible TV remote, Apple’s AirPlay 2. As well as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
The end result is a soundbar that also features a speaker capable of 270-degree output. Aesthetically, the soundbar is covered by a rounded plastic grill – available in both black or white – that enables the speaker to blend right into any home entertainment setup, just as though it was a part of the furniture.
The Sonos Arc will be available in Malaysia from July onwards, but customers can preorder the soundbar starting June. The soundbar will retail at an SRP of RM4499. In addition to its new soundbar, Sonos also announced its 3rd generation Sub and 2nd generation Sonos Five speakers that can be paired with the Arc to provide an even greater depth of immersion. Both the new Sonos Sub and Sonos Five will be available from July onwards, and will retail for RM3999 and RM2999, respectively.
