Being one of the top PC makers in the world, it goes without saying that Lenovo has a vast number of products under its wings. Divided into several divisions, the Lenovo Legion family of products covers the gaming segment through high-performance gaming laptops, desktops, monitors, and peripherals.
Earlier this year, Lenovo has introduced a long line of new Legion products for gamers to get their game on in 2020. They are already on their way to Malaysia as we speak which means there is no better time to get to know some of the new features that have been packed into 2020 Lenovo Legion gaming products.
STRIKE WITH PRECISION
You could lose out in the arena if your keyboard experience and performance is not up to par. Surprisingly though, excellent keyboard experience is not a common trait in gaming laptops.
That is not the case with the 2020 Lenovo Legion laptops though as they are equipped with the new Lenovo Legion TrueStrike keyboard which promises an elevated experience that matches their status as high-performance gaming laptops.
Inspired by the company’s legendary ThinkPad laptops, Lenovo TrueStrike keyboard is equipped with soft-landing switches which bring together smooth, tactile, and responsive keyboard experience to gamers. This was done by increasing the aperture in the baseplate which resulted in a larger area for shock absorption.
Additionally, there are also rubber lifters which provide resistance and avoid the keys from being slammed into the baseplate. The Lenovo TrueStrike keyboard also has deep key travel of up to 1.5mm and comes with second-transition curve which helps improves gamers’ action per minute.
Alongside 100% anti-ghosting capability, the Lenovo TrueStrike keyboard also has a more ergonomic feel to it thanks to the implementation of the rubber dome and 0.3mm concave bump on each of its keys. Not to forget, they are also protected in the long run through abrasion-resistant paint coating with nano-scale wear-resistant particles.
STAY FROSTY AND FRAG MORE
The CPU and GPU inside your PC would heat up as they work hard to deliver the best gaming experience that you can get within their capabilities. However, they need a good thermal solution or else their performances would suffer due to thermal throttling.
This is something that the new Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 solution is designed to address. Through the synergy of hardware and software, the Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 promises lower system temperature and better airflow while keeping the 2020 Lenovo Legion gaming laptops whisper-quiet.
Working in hand with the Dual Burn feature that is meant to extract as much as performance from CPU and GPU without hitting their thermal limit, Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 optimal cooling system design involves placing heat sinks in a very tactical manner so that more heat can be dissipated away from the motherboard.
The Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 thermal solution has also been implemented into the 2020 Lenovo Legion Tower 5i gaming desktop. While the general objective of the solution remained the same, the implementation on the gaming desktop is slightly different as it involved a 150-watt CPU cooler, dual thermal fan design, and larger intake fans to deliver faster air circulation throughout its chassis.
UNSTOPPABLE PERFORMANCE
When it comes to CPU and GPU, the 2020 Lenovo Legion gaming PCs are equipped with the best of the best. They are certainly fully armed to meet all the challenges that gamers thrown at them regardless of whether for e-sports, livestreams, productivity, or content creations.
In terms of graphics, the Lenovo Legion 5Pi, Legion 5i, Legion 5, and Legion 7i are equipped with NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics which allows gamers to enjoy the beauty of real-time ray tracing anytime, anywhere. For Lenovo Legion Tower 5i, it can be obtained with NVIDIA GeForce RTX Super graphics card which carries even more firepower.
For example, the new 10th Gen Intel Core processor is a standard on Lenovo Legion 5Pi, Legion 5i, and Legion 5 gaming laptops as well as the Legion Tower 5i gaming desktop. On another hand, the Lenovo Legion 5 also features the new Ryzen 4000 series processor.
