Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 9 And Note 9 Pro last week, saying it will be available globally in mid May. It looks like the phones are arriving on our shores right on schedule. The company announced that the phones will be launched in Malaysia on 11 May.
To quickly recap, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 comes with a 6.53-inch Full HD+ display, a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset and a 5020mAh battery. It also features a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP +2MP quad camera combo.
The Pro model, on the other hand, comes with a slightly larger 6.67-inch Full HD+ display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset, and the same 5020mAh battery. For its cameras, it also has a quad camera setup which consists of a 64MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP combo.
Both phones come with two RAM and Storage configurations, but it remains to be seen if both will be making their way here. The Redmi Note 9 was announced globally to come with a 3GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB combo, while the Pro version launched with a 6GB + 64GB and a 6GB + 128GB combo.
At any rate, it won’t be long before we find out which configuration will be making their way here, and what their local pricing will be like. The launch event will be livestreamed from Xiaomi Malaysia Facebook page at 2PM.
