It has been close to a year since the United States imposed sanctions on Huawei which has affected the company’s relationship with many of its Western partners. Among the biggest impact from the sanctions is the inability of Huawei to include Google Mobile Services (GMS) into its newer phones such as the recently released Huawei P40 series.
However, there is an apparent way to circumstance the U.S sanctions which is to release refreshed version of devices that already have been certified by Google before. One recent example is the P30 Lite New Edition that was released in certain markets earlier this year which carries more RAM and storage than the original P30 Lite but the rest of the phone’s specs and design are still the same.
Recent information from Germany has revealed that Huawei is getting ready to release another New Edition model. This time around, the company has picked the P30 Pro for the New Edition line-up as shown in this Terms and Conditions document for an on-going campaign over there.
However, the changes that Huawei has implemented for P30 Pro New Edition are not yet known for the time being. Given its position as a flagship device, the original P30 Pro already featured beefy specs including 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB storage.
Of course, the probable inclusion of GMS could be the main highlight of the P30 Pro New Edition although it is remained to be seen whether that will really happen or otherwise. Additionally, we don’t expect the phone to be released in Malaysia anyway given that the P30 Lite New Edition didn’t made its way to our market.
