During his media briefing earlier today, the Director General (DG) of Health Malaysia, Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah has stated that Malaysia is now entering the recovery phase. As we about to begin Phase 4 of Movement Control Order (MCO) period tomorrow, the remark might sound like a beautiful music to many people out there.
According to Dr. Noor Hisham, current data showed declining and plateauing trend when it comes to daily confirmed cases. At the same time, the amount of active cases during Phase 3 of MCO has also decreased since more patients have recovered from COVID-19 infection which altogether help flatten the infection curve in Malaysia.
While the implementation of MCO and good border controls have helped the country reduce the risk of the virus infection, Dr. Noor Hisham pointed out that Malaysians must prepare themselves to continue facing the threat of COVID-19 for an extended time. Furthermore, the much-revered DG has also reminded everyone that there is still no vaccine for COVID-19.
Hence, the battle against COVID-19 is still pretty much on-going despite the positive outlook on our situation. So, continue to maintain good hygiene, practice social distancing while wearing face masks in public spaces, and stay home as much as possible, so that together we can help stop the spread of COVID-19 as soon as possible.
