Samsung was never a brand to go with pop up cameras for its phones. The company always relied on its Infinity-O, Infinity-V and the very uncommon Inifinity-U display. But renders based on recent leaks suggest that the Korean tech giant may be giving pop ups a try.
Lithuanian site Pigtou has shared images by Twitter leakster @OnLeaks depicting the Samsung pop up device. The renders show that the pop up segment houses a single camera. The device itself has a display that’s about 6.5 inches diagonally. And while there’s no notch, there’s still quite the significant chin at the bottom.
Speaking of bottom, the Samsung device is depicted as having a USB-C port, but no 3.5mm audio jack, which is no longer surprising at this point. Moving on to the back, it looks to have a triple camera setup, as well as a fingerprint sensor. The edges here are also slightly curved, as opposed to the flat front. All these suggest that this may be an entry into the Samsung Galaxy A series.
The company is believed to be announcing the device in the coming months. That being said, no definitive date is known just yet. It’s still interesting to see the company divert from its own range of Infinity displays. So far, the Samsung Galaxy A80 has been the only exception, which uses quite a complicated solution for its front-facing camera.
