The English Premier League (EPL) was inevitably postponed back in March due to COVID-19 concerns, which has left most fans disappointed. However, the organisers are keeping the football spirit alive virtually by announcing an official FIFA 20 tournament from 21 to 25 April 2020. It will be aired live on Astro SuperSport 2 (CH812 HD/CH832) and Astro GO.
The inaugural ePremier League (ePL) Invitational tournament will see representatives from 20 EPL clubs face-off against one another in FIFA 20. The eSports football tournament will feature stars such as Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, Aston Villa’s John McGinn, and much more.
Additionally, EPL hopes that the tournament will help encourage fans around the world to stay home and stay safe during the pandemic outbreak, and also highlight its #PlayersTogether initiative. The initiative was formed by Premier League players as a collective way of generating funds for the UK’s National Health Service, as well as distributing them where they are needed most.
