Last week, Microsoft clearly began a campaign of building up hype towards CD Projekt Red’s (CDPR) upcoming Cyberpunk 2077, first with the announcement of its Johnny Silverhand-themed Xbox One controller, followed by its glow-in-the-dark neon-coloured Xbox One X. Now, gaming accessories maker, Steelseries has followed suit with the announcement of its Arctis 1 Wireless headset for Xbox.
Like Microsoft’s limited edition Cyberpunk 2077-theme Xbox One controller, the Arctis 1 sports a very minimalist design and tone; the top of the headband is emblazoned with the word Samurai, while the back of one earcup shows off the stylised design of the red Japanese “Oni”. Seen on the back of the jacket of the game’s protagonist, V.
The back of the other earcup looks banged up, although this is by design. To be precise, it’s shows off scratches on the surface, with the words “No Future” artfully etched at the bottom. Further, the head of the detachable microphone is tipped in red.
The Arctis 1 headphones will supposedly use lossless 2.4GHz wireless connectivity with ultra-low latency when in use for both the Xbox and PC. Moreover, the headphones will be “extremely limited” with preorders in the US set at US$109 (~RM478). On a related note, Steelseries will also be releasing a Cyberpunk 2077-themed accessory pack for conusmers who already own a pair of wired or wireless Arctis Pro headset. These packs will cost US$35 (~RM153) and comes with two magnetic plates and a ski goggle headband.
Cyberpunk 2077 is slated to launch on 17 September this year. The game will be available on the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
