Samsung has introduced an app for its Galaxy smartwatches that actually assists you with your hand washing. The aptly named Hand Wash app offers a timer, as well as timed reminders for that purpose.
Hand washing is something we’d do on a regular basis, but as pointed out by the World Health Organisation (WHO); as precaution to the COVID-19 crisis, it’s recommended that washing is done for at least 20 seconds under running water. With that said, Samsung’s Hand Wash timer feature is set to start from 25 seconds and will notify you when it reaches zero. The initial five seconds is taken into account for you to turn on the faucet and apply soap to your hands.
As you may have guessed, the app’s other function provides you with preset reminders which notifies you of when to wash your hands. According to Samsung, these presets can be customised to your preference so that it can fit to your daily schedule.
The Hand Wash app for Samsung Galaxy smartwatches is available now on Galaxy Store for free. The app is compatible with Samsung wearables with Galaxy Store support such as Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Gear series.
For those who do not own a Galaxy smartwatch, well… you could manually count to twenty whenever you wash your hands.
