CD Projekt Red’s (CDPR) Cyberpunk 2077 is still on track for a September launch and needless to say, the studio has had several major partners wanting to collaborate and create products around the game’s theme. On that note, Microsoft has a Cyberpunk 2077-themed limited edition controller lined up but at a glance, its design does feel rather lacking.
The gaming accessory was first spotted online on Amazon Canada, but has since been taken down. By contrast to Cyberpunk 2077’s overflowing and gratuitous neon theme, Microsoft’s limited edition silver and black themed controller feels muted and plain. In fact, the only indication of its association to the game is the fictional Arasaka named emblazoned on the controller’s left handle, and even that’s easy to miss.
In all honesty, the controller’s design pales in comparison to what DeviantArt artist, BossLogic came up with for a Cyberpunk 2077-themed PlayStation 5 (PS5) DualSense controller. Sure, it’s just a piece of concept art, but you can’t argue that he does make full use of the game’s overarching neon motif to create that over-the-top design.

The limited edition Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One controller will reportedly be available on 4 May, several months ahead of the game itself. As a reminder, Cyberpunk 2077 is slated for launch on PC, PS4, and Xbox One 17 September.
