It looks like those complying to the Movement Control Order (MCO) will be enjoying more free content to keep themselves entertained. This time around, HBO is offering select shows for free on its HBO Go streaming platform, starting from 15 April 2020.
Free-to-view content include old and new HBO shows including The Sopranos, The Wire, Barry, and Miss Sherlock. Another noteworthy series worth mentioning is Folklore, which focuses on legendary and mythical creatures from Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, and more. Other than that, documentaries such as McMillions and The Inventor: Out For Blood in Silicon Valley are also available for free viewing.
To top it off, users are not required to register or subscribe to the service in order to watch these shows on its website or on mobile devices. That said, those new to HBO Go on mobile need not worry about having an Astro subscription when logging into the app. Simply bypass the local operator sign-in step altogether by clicking on “Skip” on the top right corner of the screen, as per the image shown below. Additionally, users on the web version can immediately watch their desired shows via the official website.
However, do keep in mind that the platform is only offering the first season for every show listed in the free-to-view promotion. Viewers would also be disappointed to know that hit shows such as Game of Thrones, Chernobyl or Watchmen are not included.
