Mydin has introduced its drive-through shopping service with the launch of Mydin Express. The service is available at 10 of its branches. Specifically, the service is available at Mydin’s USJ, Semenyih, Section 18 Shah Alam, Selayang, MITC, Parit Buntar, Meru Raya, Bukit Mertajam, Pekan and Kumbang Kerian branches.
As a drive-through service, Mydin Express works in a way that’s similar to the ones currently used by fast food chains. Though there’s one important difference: you place your orders before heading out to pay for and pick up your shopping. Because of this, “pack and pick” may be the better description of the service.

You start off by heading to the Mydin Express website, and selecting the branch that’s closest to you. Then you pick the products you wish to buy. Following that, you’ll get a email as well as a WhatsApp text, telling you about the payment method and pickup point. Once you’re there, you check that all your items are in order, and pay using accepted credit or debit cards. Finally, your receipt will be sent to you via WhatsApp.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and Movement Control Order, Mydin Express is another way for the chain’s customers to practise social distancing. That said, it really depends on if one of the Mydin branches with the service is near enough to you. AEON has a comparable service as well, but perhaps not as convenient.
