The Masjid India district and its surrounding areas in Kuala Lumpur have been placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order (MCO), effective 14 April. The order was previously imposed on two buildings in the area, the Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion.
Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob states that the decision to impose Enhanced MCO on this district was made on the advice of the Health Minister. Areas within the Masjid India district placed under this order includes Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Melaka and Jalan Ampang.

Along with the announcement, the minister also urged all residents in the affected areas to remain calm and provide full cooperation to Health Ministry personnel, as well as adhering to all instructions issued by the authorities. The Enhanced MCO period on Masjid India and its surrounding areas is in effect until 28 April.
Additionally, Ismail Sabri added that the government had decided to extend the EMCO period in other affected areas until 28 April as well. These locations include Kampung Dato’ Ibrahim Majid and Bandar Baharu Dato’ Ibrahim Majid in Simpang Renggam, Johor; Menara City One in Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Kuala Lumpur; and certain areas in Hulu Langat, Selangor.
