Tesco has recently launched the Order & Collect program, a WhatsApp-based personal shopper service which is now available at most stores nationwide. The new service allows users to make orders for essential items via WhatsApp and collect them on the same day. Pretty handy during the MCO period.
To utilise this new service, users can list down their orders to their corresponding Tesco store’s WhatsApp personal shopper number between 8am to 4pm daily. Once the orders are received, the personal shopper will then advise on an estimated collection time, with 6pm being the last collection time. Once confirmed, a barcode will be sent to the user to be used as reference during payment. Tesco adds that all payments are done in-store with cash or via eWallet.
During instances such as an item that was requested is no longer available, the personal shopper will contact users for further confirmation or alternatives. According to the company, the service is limited to 100 slots per day on a first come first serve basis. Additionally, orders are limited to only 25 items only per user.
Tesco also notes that the Order & Collect program will not be available at all Tesco stores; including Tesco Extra branches in Puchong, Cheras and Selayang, as well as main branches in Desa Tebrau, Mutiara Damansara, Kulai and KSL. The company states that the unavailability of the service at these locations are due to limited resources, and they are currently working to overcome this issue.
