Garmin Malaysia has announced the Approach S62 GPS smartwatch for golf enthusiasts. The watch boasts premium golf-tracking technology and features to help enhance a golfer’s experience while on the course.
The Approach S62 features a 1.3-inch colour touchscreen with scratch resistant ceramic bezel. Garmin claims that the watch’s battery life could last up to 20 hours when in GPS mode, and up to 14 days in smartwatch mode.
Users could also download custom watch faces, as well as add on other apps and widgets via the company’s Connect IQTM Store. To further personalise the watch to their own liking, users can easily swap in with different Garmin Quickfit bands of either leather, silicone, nylon, or titanium options.
As mentioned earlier, the smartwatch includes a variety of golf related features to choose from, such as Virtual Caddie, PinPointer, PlaysLike Distance, and so on. The “Virtual Caddie” offers detailed golf maps for more than 41,000 courses worldwide and can analyze critical factors like wind speed, terrain and club type. PinPointer assists players experiencing difficult shots and provides exact directions to the pin.
PlaysLike Distance helps adjust yardages to compensate for uphill and downhill shots, while Hazard View allows golfers to identify hazards on courses. Lastly, Green View displays an overhead map view of each green, and Autoshot analyses a golfer’s shot and provides performance stats to keep their game on track.
Moreover, the new Garmin golf smartwatch also features fitness tracking such as heart rate monitoring and blood oxygen levels, as well as activity profiles for running, cycling, and even swimming. It includes built-in smart notifications for emails, alerts and messages as well.
The Garmin Approach S62 is priced at RM2,399 and can be pre-ordered via this link. Additionally, the first 50 purchase orders will receive a complementary set of Garmin golf merchandise worth RM259 while stocks last. The company notes that smartwatch will be available at Garmin Brand Stores and MST Golf stores nationwide, once the MCO is lifted.
