Local e-wallet service Boost has launched its own donation fund called Tabung COVID-19. It was set up in order to collect funds that will be channeled to help Ministry of Health (MOH)’s efforts in combating COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the funds will also be sent to certain non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
Specifically, all funds collected by Boost up to 31 March will go directly to the MOH. Donations throughout the whole month of April, on the other hand, will be distributed between the MOH and revelant NGOs. These are NGOs that are actively looking out for communities that have been directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund that go to the MOH will be used to buy medical equipment and supplies instead.
Boost says that the Tabung COVID-19 is one of five initiatives under its #BoostGotYou campaign. The campaign itself aims to help Malaysians get through the whole COVID-19 crisis, which has resulted in the extended Movement Control Order (MCO). The other four initiatives will be announced in the coming days.
If you’re able, you can make the donation by scanning a QR code with your Boost app. The QR code in question can be found in the link below.
