Redmi has unveiled their massive Smart TV MAX via Xiaomi China’s official website. The brand’s new TV sports a massive 98-inch screen with Dolby DTS speakers and more.
Its large LCD panel sports 4K resolution with 60Hz refresh rate and HDR support. Redmi says that the TV’s display covers 85% NTSC colour space and also features 192 zone local dimming with direct LED backlighting.
The TV MAX also includes a ninth-generation image engine that’s capable of 20 image enhancing technologies such as motion interpolation. Under the hood, it is equipped with an Amlogic T972 chipset with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Powering the TV itself is Xiaomi’s own PatchWall OS based on Android TV, and could act as a smart home hub for other IoT devices part of the brand’s ecosystem.
Audio-wise, the smart TV features four speakers with large cavities and are equipped with the aforementioned Dolby DTS enhancements. Also included are two HDMI ports, one HDMI-ARC, and an S/PDIF output for external audio support.
Redmi’s new Smart TV MAX will be available in China from 9 April 2020, and is priced at CNY20,00 (~RM12,400) – a pretty competitive price for a large TV. However, the company has not revealed if the device will receive a global launch at this time.
