Back in December 2019, Xiaomi has launched a new model under its Redmi family, the K30 which was then released in India as the POCO X2. Fast forward to today, the company has launched the new Redmi K30 Pro which goes beyond just specs upgrade.
As you can see above, the K30 Pro looks totally different from the K30 especially with its circular camera module and is also IP53 certified. Speaking about camera, the module contains a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor for the main camera alongside a 13MP ultra-wide camera, 5MP macro camera, and 2MP depth sensor.
On the K30 Pro Zoom Edition, the 5MP macro camera was replaced with an 8MP telephoto camera which allows the phone to zoom up to 30x. Both versions of K30 Pro still come with a 20MP motorized pop-up selfie camera.
Instead of featuring an LCD display as per K30, Redmi team has decided to equip both K30 Pro devices with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display instead which has maximum brightness level of 1200 nits for HDR10+ contents. The refresh rate of K30 Pro’s display is not known, but widely believed to be 60Hz as opposed to 120Hz on K30.
In terms of firepower, these K30 Pro devices are running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 which means that this is a flagship-level device. It also comes standard with UFS 3.1-based internal storage and LPDD5 memory together with 3.5mm audio jack, IR blaster, and in-display fingerprint scanner as well as support for NFC, 5G, and Wi-Fi 6.
The K30 Pro series is also equipped with a 4700mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging tech. The company stated that K30 Pro devices can be fully charged within an hour.
Price-wise, the K30 Pro with 6GB/128GB configuration will go for CNY 2999 (~RM 1,882) while the 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants can be obtained for CNY 3399 (~RM 2,132) and CNY 3699 (~RM 2,321) respectively. The K30 Pro Zoom Edition with 8GB/128GB option is priced at CNY 3799 (RM 2,384) as opposed to the 8GB/256GB model that goes for CNY 3999 (~RM 2,509).
At this moment, Xiaomi has yet to announce the K30 Pro’s availability in Malaysia. We’ll keep you posted once we receive more updates from the company.
