Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Noraini Ahmad has announced that National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan borrowers can now postponed their repayment for the next three months. The move was taken after the government have considered the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on the country’s economy.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has not only caused the Restricted Movement Order (RMO) that we are going through at the moment but has also strained our economy. Naturally, this has a direct impact on the income for some of the Rakyat especially in sectors such as tourism and entertainment.

The three-month deferment takes place immediately and will last until 30 June 2020. Hence, PTPTN borrowers are being excluded from enforcement and legal action through this duration.
