The Internal Revenue Board (LHDN) has extended the deadline for income tax form submission until the end of June 2020. This decision was made in conjunction with the Restricted Movement Order (RMO) that is in place from today until 31 March 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Originally, the dateline for manual submission is 30 April 2020 while the e-Filing submission will conclude on 15 Mei 2020. With the announcement, all taxpayers will be allowed to file their tax forms until 30 June 2020 regardless via manual submission or e-Filing.
Speaking about manual submission, the LHDN offices throughout Malaysia has now closed until 31 March 2020 in order to adhere to the RMO. Nevertheless, the agency stated that its eZHASiL online platform as well as call-centres and HASiL Live Chat are operational as usual.
Hence, LHDN recommends all taxpayers to utilize its online platform and the communication channels that we mentioned above throughout the RMO period. In fact, the agency has even allowed first-time taxpayers to apply for their e-Filing PIN number through the live chat.
Meanwhile, do make sure that you doing your best to adhere to the RMO and do you part in the fight against COVID-19. Stay home, and wash your hands thoroughly.
