Under the Restricted Movement Order (RMO), there are quite a number of services that have been exempted from RMO and will be operational throughout the scheduled 2-week period as they are deemed critical to the country.
Among them is postal and courier services but given the COVID-19 pandemic situation that eventually lead to the implementation of RMO, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has released brief guideline for them to adhere. This is done to ensure that all the postal and courier personnel as well as consumers can protect themselves against COVID-19.
Majority of them are common advises from the Ministry of Health such as wash their hands often, wear mask during deliver and social distancing. In addition to that, MCMC has also asked all postal and courier services to implement contactless delivery which is something that you might have heard from the announcement by Foodpanda yesterday.
In general, postal and courier services are requested to implement alternative solutions that limit the contact between their personnel and customers. One example is the delivery receipt in which the services need to use different method of acknowledgement instead of using signatures.
Naturally, MCMC has also reminded all the postal and courier services that they have to inform customers in advance if there is any changes within their modus operandi. With that, do stay safe everyone and do your part to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
