Prasarana Malaysia Berhad has announced that its Rapid train and bus services will operate as usual during the upcoming Restrictive Movement Order (RMO) which will commence from 18 March until 31 March 2020. The RMO restricts public gatherings, oversea travels for Malaysians, tourists entry into the country, as well as closure of schools and tertiary educational institutions and all non-critical public and private premises.
The company adds this applies to all of its train services including the Kelana Jaya LRT line, Ampang / Sri Petaling LRT line, Sungai Buloh to Kajang MRT line, KL Monorail, and Sunway BRT. Rapid bus services in Klang Valley, Penang, Kuantan, Kamunting, Manjung will also commence operations as usual with regular weekday schedules with company monitoring.
“We need to ensure the proper frequency as we have yet to determine the number of passengers who will be using our services tomorrow and during the duration of the Restrictive Movement Order,” said Prasarana CEO Muhammad Nizam Alias.
He also confirmed that the Pasar Seni Bus Hub will be open as usual during the RMO period. Additionally, a 50 percent discount is also offered to disabled individuals, students, and seniors for their travel convenience.
