Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced the Restrictive Movement Order, which will go into effect starting 18 March 2020. Despite the many restrictions, you’ll still be able to go out to get your food and groceries. For the first part, Grab has announced that you can still have food delivered to you via GrabFood, or Foodpanda.
But what about groceries? Well worry not, as there’s still an extensive list of online grocery stores that will still be operating, especially in the Klang Valley. Here’s a list of some of them.
MyGroser
If you need groceries and you need it within the same day, then MyGroser is probably the the one to go to. You can have your groceries delivered to you from 9AM to 9PM, and their services are available every day, including public holidays. Orders above RM100 will also be delivered for free.
HappyFresh
It’s much the same story with HappyFresh. You can pick your delivery time slots so that your groceries are delivered at a specific time of the day. The time slot can also be within the same day, or up to three days later. It also operates every day including public holidays, from 10AM to 9PM. That said, HappyFresh is a little different in that it gets your groceries from other supermarkets and stores. Some of which are also in this list.
Tesco
You know the name Tesco as the physical supermarket for groceries, but did you know that you can do the same online? Much like the others listed above, deliveries are made every day, including public holidays. Tesco’s time window is 10AM to 10PM. And best of all, you can place your orders for up to three weeks in advance. And you also have the option to pick up your orders after making them online.
Mydin
Like Tesco, Mydin is also a supermarket and hypermarket chain that does deliveries. And like every other entry so far, you can get your deliveries on any day, including public holidays. Though you only get your online orders the next day, between 10AM and 9AM. If you feel like it, Mydin also gives you the option to pick up your orders yourself from a physical outlet.
My Seafood Mart
If you’re looking only for seafood, an option is My Seafood Mart. And freshness for whatever you ordered is guaranteed as whatever is delivered to you in the afternoon was just freshly caught that morning. That being said, delivery is a little restricted compared to the other options listed above. Deliveries only happen between 2PM and 8PM, every day except certain public holidays. Delivery is also restricted to the Klang Valley
My Fishman
Another option for seafood that’s available is My Fishman. Deliveries to other areas outside of the Klang Valley are also available, for a price. Delivery times are more flexible, between 11AM and 7PM. But on the flip side, these only take place between Wednesday and Saturday. There’s also a minimum order of RM150.
Signature Market
Going towards the more niche organic snacks segment, there’s Signature Market. This is where you get things like organic seeds and nuts, as well as shampoo and essential oils. Deliveries are a bit more restrictive, taking seven to 10 working days. But then again, the products are only made and packed upon your order being placed, so that’s understandable.
Organic Express
Last on this list is Organic Express, and it’s quite similar to the option above. You have your organic nuts, raw honey and the like, but you also get the more common items like fresh seafood, food and vegetables. Delivery times here are between three to five days.
It’s important to note that, considering the Restrictive Movement Order being in place, many others will also be making use of these services. As a result, your deliveries may be delayed by a couple of days. Also, while these are a convenient option, convenience stores like 7-Eleven, Family Mart, 99 Speedmart and the like will still be open throughout these times.
