Grab has announced that all of its services in Malaysia will remain operational during the implementation of Restrictive Movement Order (RMO) that starts from tomorrow until 31 March 2020. In case you missed the news, the RMO is being implemented as a drastic countermeasure against the COVID-19 outbreak.
By services, it is not only just the Transport service but also GrabMart, GrabExpress, and more importantly, GrabFood. Here is the announcement, in full:
Given that the Restrictive Movement Order that was announced by PM Muhyiddin Yassin last night is essentially not a curfew or full lockdown directive, there is a high chance that restaurants are still open which allow GrabFood to be operational. That being said, the announcement last night was quite general in nature and need some additional clarifications.
As the government is asking the Rakyat to stay home during the 2-week RMO period, food delivery service will be quite helpful. So, let’s see how it goes when the RMO begins tomorrow.
