Back in January, there were reports on Konami working on two Silent Hill titles. One of the two was said to be a reboot, while the other was to be an episodic game like a Telltale game. A new report suggests that the latter is the form that the cancelled Silent Hills will take.
Horror game enthusiast site Rely on Horror cites sources who claim that Sony plays a major part in these negotiations. The brand behind PlayStation is said to be patching things up between Konami and Kojima Producitons. You should know the name as the Death Stranding devs who were to lead the cancelled Silent Hills game.
As for the reboot, it may be known simply as Silent Hill. The title also has has three prominent figures of the series working on it. They are Masahiro Ito, creature designer for the first four games; Keiichiro Toyama, who wrote and directed the very first game; Akira Yamaoka, who was the composer for most of the series.
Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio will also have a part in the Silent Hill reboot’s development. The major role of Sony PlayStation may suggest that these two Silent Hill titles may be a PlayStation exclusive. But despite all this, neither Sony nor Konami have confirmed these details. Because of this, it would be better to not be too optimistic about things.
