Epic Games seems to be on a Ubisoft binge with its free games. Last month, the digital platform gave away Assassin’s Creed Syndicate to the masses. This month, it’s giving away Watch Dogs, along with four other titles.
First launched in 2014, Watch Dogs puts players in the shoes of Aiden Pearce, a hacker hellbent on revenge after the death of his niece. Set in a fictional version of Chicago city, one of the game’s unique gameplay features is the way Pearce is able to control the city’s entire digital infrastructure. All through his smartphone.
While a commercial success, Watch Dogs was met with equally harsh criticism, particularly in the game’s graphics quality and its repetitive gameplay. Nevertheless, the game spawned two sequels and still serves as an entry point for gamers interested in getting to know the Watch Dogs universe.
Watch Dogs will be up for grabs on the Epic Games Store (EGS) from 19 March until 26 March. The Stanley Parable will also be made free alongside the Ubisoft title, which is another game you’ll definitely want to add to your library if you’re into the whole interactive drama genre.
The other three titles that are currently free from now until 19 March are Anodyne 2: Return to Dust, A Short Hike, and Mutazione.
