PLUS Malaysia has announced that RFID payment lanes at all of its closed-system toll plazas will go live starting from 1 April 2020 onwards. This move which the company has committed for quite some time, followed the activation of similar payment lanes for PLUS’ 10 open-system toll plazas which took place back in January.
According to today’s announcement, PLUS has apparently been working to sync up the RFID system with Touch ‘n Go for the past 36 months. As you might know, TNG RFID tag is already out of trial phase and it is now being sold for RM 35 each since the middle of last month.
The implementation on PLUS closed-system highways involved 83 toll plazas across the Peninsular Malaysia which also include the LPT2 portion of East Coast Expressways. There will be 173 RFID lanes in total, with 131 of them are dedicated solely for RFID.
In case you need more information about the TNG RFID tag or the location to obtain as well as have it fitted to your vehicles, head on to its official website right here.
