Both Facebook and Instagram have Stories, but you can’t post on one and expect it to appear on the other. Not universally at least, since stories posted on Instagram can appear on Facebook if you allow it. Now, it looks like the social media company is allowing things to go the other way round, letting Facebook Stories show up on Instagram instead.
The company is now reportedly testing cross-posting from Faceboom to Instagram, as revealed by reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong. When you’ve got a Facebook Story ready to go, you can find the option to cross-post to Instagram under Privacy. It will appear at the bottom of the list as a toggle, after you’ve selected who you want to allow to see your story.

A company spokesperson has since confirmed with TechCrunch that the social media platform is indeed testing the feature. It’s already out of its internal-only prototyping phase, and is now being tested with users. The company did not say where or with whom the feature is being tested.
This may stop showing you duplicate stories that you may have seen on one platform but not the other. But as for when it will actually roll out, the company did not say.
