Despite having to resort to an alternative launch plan due to the cancellation of Mobile World Congress, OPPO is determined enough to launch its new flagship series, the Find X2 and that finally took place today. The launch marked the return of the series into the market once again after the company didn’t released any devices under the Find series in 2019.
Available in standard and Pro variant, both Find X2 models are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and also features 6.7-inch Quad HD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. They are also equipped with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM alongside non-expandable UFS3.0-based internal storage.
However, the standard model offers 256GB storage while the Pro model is packed with large storage space at 512GB. Another major difference between the two variant is their rear camera setup as the Pro model is equipped with a 48MP Sony IMX689 sensor on its main camera as well as 48MP Sony IMX586 and an unknown 13MP sensors for its ultra wide-angle and periscope telephoto camera respectively.
On another hand, the standard model carries 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor on its main camera while there is also the 12MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 13MP telephoto cameras. Both setups have different zoom capabilities too since the Pro model offers 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 60x digital zoom while the standard model can only go up to 3x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom.
The Find X2 Pro is also designed to meet the IP68 standard which means it can be submerged underwater at depth of up to 1.5m for 30 minutes but the standard Find X2 only able to meet IP54 standard which is limited to water splashes. Thanks to OPPO’s own SuperVOOC 2.0 tech, both phones can be fully charged in 38 minutes even though the Pro model has 4260mAh battery in it as opposed to the 4200mAh battery on the standard model.
There is also differences in terms of body work as the Find X2 Pro can be obtained with either vegan leather or ceramic back while the standard Find X2 has to be content with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 back which is not shabby at all. Of course, there are noticeable differences between their pricing as well.
Pre-installed with ColourOS 7.1 which is based on Android 10, the Find X2 Pro has a price tag of EU 1,199 (~RM 5,664) and the standard Find X2 goes for EU 999 (~RM 4,719). While it is possible that the pricing of these phones will be much lower in Malaysia, OPPO will only reveal the Malaysian pricing for the Find X2 series on 10 March at the series Malaysian launch webcast.
Despite that, the company has begun to accept the pre-order for both devices in Malaysia from today onwards. The Find X2 will be released in Malaysia on 14 March while the Find X2 Pro will be made available a week later on 21 March.
