The announcement of Half-Life: Alyx saw the Valve Index getting sold out almost immediately in some markets. This even includes some of the new markets that Valve extended the availability of the VR headset to. Now, it looks like the company has gotten more of the headset made.
In a tweet, Valve said the Index VR kits will become available again starting 1AM of 10 March, after adjusting for time zone differences. Despite this, the supply of the headsets looks to be quite limited still. YouTuber Nintendrew shared on Twitter an email he got from Valve, stating that the company expects the VR headsets to sell out soon after it becomes available again.

Since it was first announced back in May last year, the Valve Index never really much public interest. The announcement of Half-Life: Alyx made it popular again, and with good reason. After all, Valve pledged to give a copy of the game for free to anyone who owns the Index headset at the time of the title’s launch. This applies to everyone who owns the Index, be it just the headset, or the full VR kit.
Valve Index will be back in stock (in very limited quantities) on Monday… This feels like the early days of amiibo all over again, but more expensive. 🤪 pic.twitter.com/4BC3md1oLI

Unfortunately though, it doesn’t look like Valve is extending the availability of the Index to more markets just yet. After all, Malaysia is still not among the countries that can buy the headset. Hopefully this changes, but based on the way it is, it’s unlikely to happen before Half-Life: Alyx launches.
