Logitech has reportedly entered into a partnership with US-based furniture maker, Herman Miller, with the aim of creating “high-performance”, gaming-grade furniture
“At Herman Miller, we have a rich history of designing solutions to support people wherever they live and work,” said Tim Straker, Herman Miller’s Chief Marketing Officer. “We’re excited to combine our ergonomic, research-driven approach with Logitech G’s excellence in technology and innovation. Together, we’ll develop high-quality solutions that provide gamers and esports athletes with the utmost support and comfort.”
The decision to enter into the gaming furniture industry is a – if you’ll pardon the pun – logical, if not sensible one for Logitech. Seeing how the division has years of experience in the PC gaming ecosystem and how Logitech doesn’t technically have its own line of gaming furniture just yet.
However, the decision to enter the furniture realms also means that the gaming peripheral maker is now in square line of sight of its competitors. Putting it up against some of the major gaming furniture brands, including Secret Lab and Noblechairs, to name a couple.
Unsurprisingly, the first product that will be coming out of this collaboration is a gaming chair, which Herman Miller says will be set to launch sometime during the first half of this year. That said, Herman Miller made its bones with more than just luxury chairs, so we shouldn’t discount the possibility of the two brands having its own gaming-oriented table just yet.
