Just days after announcing the global launch event of the phone, the co-founder of Xiaomi, Lei Jun has provided the first look on the company’s upcoming flagship device, Mi 10 through his Weibo account. In addition to that, he has also confirmed that the phone’s first launch event will take place much earlier than the company’s MWC event.
Specifically, the Mi 10 will be made official later this week on 13 February in China. As a comparison, the phone’s global launch event has been scheduled to take place on 23 February at Barcelona which coincides nicely with Mobile World Congress.
Based on the image that was released by Lei Jun, there are plenty of traits that set the phone apart from its predecessor, the Mi 9. For example, Mi 10 seems to feature not only an in-display selfie camera but it is also located on the top left part of the phone instead of in the centre as per Mi 9.
The new Mi 10 seems to also feature a screen with curved sides which is one of the biggest differentiators between the phone and Mi 9. Together with curved back and the vertical arrangement of its 108MP quad-camera setup, the general design of Mi 10 seems to follow what we have previously seen on the Mi Note 10.
As you might have read on previous report, the new Mi 10 will also be featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, LPDDR5 memory (supplied by Micron and Samsung), UFS 3.0-based internal storage and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. It goes without saying we are now waiting for Xiaomi to confirm the phone availability for Malaysia, so stay tuned for more as we get closer to the Mi 10’s official launch very soon.
