OPPO has released a teaser of an upcoming smartwatch that they’re planning to unveil within the first quarter of 2020. The teaser for the unnamed watch was uploaded by the company’s vice president Brian Shen in Weibo on 30 January.
From the image posted by Shen, the new OPPO watch features a curved display encased in a gold metallic case. It appears that the device may only feature two buttons on its right side, and also sporting a cream coloured strap to complete its look. At a glance, it’s undeniable that most would see a resemblance to an Apple Watch due to its similarly sleek design.
Both Shen and OPPO have not revealed any technical information regarding the upcoming smartwatch. Some sources speculate that the watch could feature eSIM support as well as electrocardiograph (ECG) functions.
We’ll just have to wait until OPPO is ready to fully unveil the smartwatch within Q1 of this year for more information. It’s also likely that the company might showcase the new device at MWC 2020 in Barcelona next month.
