Spotted in the SIRIM database are two OPPO smartphones bearing the model numbers of CPH2015 and CPH2023 that have recently received their certification from the organisation. Several sources have reported sightings of the same model numbers in different countries, but have unsuccessfully confirmed their identities.
According to NDTV and 91mobiles, the CPH2015 is speculated to be either the Reno S or A31 – the latter is not to be confused with another OPPO phone with the same name released back in 2015. NDTV speculates that the phone – as the Reno S – is equipped with a notched display, a Snapdragon 855+ SoC, and features a 64MP main camera. Whereas, 91mobiles suggests that it may be the OPPO A31 which features either a MediaTek Helio P70 or P60, and is powered by a 4230mAh battery.
Then we have the CPH2023, which is perhaps the most mysterious of the two. We’ve not been able to pinpoint this model number to any named OPPO smartphone that was recently announced, teased, or even leaked. However, GSMArena reports that the CPH2023 had recently appeared in Geekbench and supposedly features a MediaTek Helio P90 chipset with up to 8GB of RAM. The website also added that the phone had also received certifications in countries such as India and Thailand.
Speculations aside, we do know for a fact that both phones will imminently launch in Malaysia sometime soon. With that said, it’s only a matter of time until we’ll eventually find out the identity of these two phones from OPPO themselves when they’re ready to make the announcement.
