Leaked photos of a smartphone bearing the name “POCO F2 Lite” have recently been provided to tech Youtuber RevAtlas on 17 January. The “Lite” moniker suggests that the now-independant POCO brand may be releasing more than one variant of the highly anticipated successor to the fan favourite Pocophone F1.
The Youtuber revealed that the images and key specs of the alleged POCO F2 Lite were emailed to him by an anonymous tipster. Additionally, the tipster also hinted that the company will be launching three smartphones in 2020, but did not go into full detail regarding that information.
The images show that the alleged POCO F2 Lite sports a display with a waterdrop notch, as well as featuring a thick “chin” on its lower half. They also reveal that the phone is running on Android 10 and a MIUI interface designed for the POCO brand. However, its rear design and camera setup is unknown for now, due to the photos only showcasing the smartphone’s front design.
The tipster also revealed that the POCO F2 Lite is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 chipset, paired with 6GB of RAM. The phone is said to feature a high resolution camera and a large battery capacity of 5000mAh. Theoretically, the aforementioned chipset would allow the F2 Lite to feature 5G capabilities, as well as a single camera setup of up to 192MP or a multi-camera setup of up to 22MP.
Lastly, RevAtlas says that the tipster also suggests that the new device could be cheaper than the Pocophone F1, which is most likely because the device in question is a Lite variant of the supposed successor. If this leak is to be believed, a flagship variant of the POCO F2 is to be expected as well. Nevertheless, it’s best to wait for an official announcement from POCO regarding the existence of this new smartphone series.
