Huawei recently has released its activity report for 2019 which includes the number of phones that it managed to ship throughout the year. Despite being blocked from utilizing components and services from United States companies including Google Mobile services, the Chinese tech giant managed to ship more than 240 million phones.
Out of those number, it is interesting to note that 6.9 million of them are actually 5G phones. If you are keeping tabs, this mean that Huawei has delivered slightly more 5G phones than Samsung who recently stated that it has shipped more than 6.7 million Galaxy 5G devices last year.
At this moment, Huawei has quite a number of 5G phones under its wings including the Mate 30 Pro 5G which is now being prepared for launch in Malaysia. Other than that, the brand also has Mate X foldable phone, Mate 20 X 5G, Mate 30 5G, Mate 30 RS Porsche Design, and nova 6 5G as well as HONOR V30 and V30 Pro.
While 5G has not yet been widely deployed throughout the world, Huawei’s home turf, China is one of the first major market in the world that already embraced the new wireless technology. Given the company’s popularity over there as well as its leadership status in the 5G development, this news doesn’t really come as a surprise.
