As a push to encourage Malaysians to adopt local e-wallet services, the government through Khazanah Nasional has launched the e-Tunai Rakyat initiative which allows users to redeem RM 30 from either Boost, GrabPay, or Touch ‘n Go (TnG) eWallet. Especially for first time e-wallet users, the most important question you should be asking is: which e-wallet should you redeem it from?
In the spirit of friendly competition, all three e-wallet outfits are offering their own unique incentives to entice users to redeem the e-Tunai Rakyat allocation on their platform. For our readers that have yet to redeem their allocation, here are the bonus perks that you can expect from the chosen e-wallet services:
Boost: Shake Up To RM 8,888
Those who claim their RM 30 e-Tunai Rakyat with Boost are eligible to receive one chance of Shake Up reward. As the name implies, users are prompted to shake their phone to receive a shake reward of up to RM 8,888.
It’s worth noting that the winner receiving the RM 8,888 Shake Up prize will only be rewarded RM 888.80 monthly for a total of ten months. Alongside the main Shake Up perk, Boost also offers additional vouchers, discounts, and additional referral rewards from now until the end of its e-Tunai Rakyat campaign on 14 March 2020.
GrabPay: Claim Vouchers And Discounts Worth Up To RM 2,970

However, GrabPay has moved to the second tier of sign-up at the time this article is published which means that the amount of perks available have already been reduced. Available until 8 March 2020, you might want to act on it as soon as possible especially if you are a heavy Grab user.
TnG eWallet: RM 30 Cashback Bonus
Users who managed to obtain the e-Tunai Rakyat allocation through TnG eWallet are eligible to earn an additional RM 30 cashback bonus. That being said, this cashback bonus is not being provided as a lump sump amount.

Meanwhile, users will also receive double the entry for TnG’s weekly lucky draw with prizes such as a Proton X70, Yamaha Ego Solariz, Huawei P30 Pro, and Vivo V15 are up for grabs.
Similar to Boost, TnG eWallet’s e-Tunai Rakyat programme will run until 14 March 2020 while its weekly lucky draw is currently ongoing until 10 March 2020.
The Best Choice?
Depending on who you ask, it seems that all three e-wallet services are offering enticing perks and additional bonuses to its users.
To be a bit more precise and critical about the choices, GrabPay appears to be the more worthwhile option thanks to amount of value returned with its promotions and discounts. Boost and TnG eWallet, on the other hand, the main draw of their campaigns are basically giving its users a chance to win prizes instead.
Regardless, it also comes down to user preferences and brand loyalty. If you are a first time e-wallet user, try to check out which e-wallet that you are able to utilized for services that you use often or for the products and foods that you personally loved.
That being said, just make sure that you make the choice before you submit your application as you can only obtained the e-Tunai Rakyat allocation only from one e-wallet service. For those who already familiar with local e-wallet services, our best advice is to just go along with the e-wallet that you’ve already committed to.
